Daily Prompt: Secret of Success
To be honest I have no idea. When I really began to dive in to my blogging I was inspired by a blog called http://onethousandsingledays.com/ . Vanessa is an inspiring writer. I feel she is very successful. She has a great page, she has a clear theme to her blog (a purpose if you will) and she has a ton of readers, has been featured on freshly pressed and even interviewed on the radio. I believe her blog will result in a book. In my opinion that is pretty successful.
As an aspiring writer my dream is to write a book. I love to write and I have been writing since I was a little girl and was separated from the people I loved so much when I was moved overseas. I would spend hours writing letters to these people. Two of these people has passed away since then and among their possessions were shoe boxes filled with my letters.
However, I began the blog(s) as a creative outlet for me. Writing is one of the best therapies I know. I write to sort things out in my head and to grow. What I found is when ever I get the rare comment it uplifts me so much because it means someone has taken time out of their day to read my words and then they think on it and respond with compassion or empathy or a “get over yourself” which is sometimes what I need.
I would love to have my blog develop into a book one day. But for now I would really love to throw a few book ideas out there and know I would get responses. But I hold back for fear no one will respond which says to me ‘no one is reading your blog’.
Another blog I find very successful is http://www.ceephotography.com/ Cee involves a large blogging population to participate in various photography themes. She is fun and creative. I have tried to involve people in several of my blogs but I never get anyone to participate which means I may be missing the mark. Blogging is fun and she makes it even more so by giving her readers something to look forward to like in her http://www.ceephotography.com/share-your-world-introduction/share-your-world-2013/.
In short, these two blogs are prompting me to try harder, to be more creative and to take risks. Until that day when I can say “Okay now I am a successful blogger” I will continue to learn and grow from all the other wonderful blogs out there. This is one of the greatest ideas anyone has ever come up with. Its like that awesome show and tell day at school once a year but here it is every day.
